Hermosa Beach

A quaint, vibrant beach town with a rich history, there’s good reason Hermosa Beach was awarded the title of the “Best Little Beach City.” This lively yet laid-back community sits in the center of the South Bay coastline and features some of the most beautiful sandy beaches in the world. Beach volleyball, biking, surfing, skateboarding, and jogging are just a few of the outdoor activities that Hermosa residents enjoy regularly because of the nearly year-round sunshine. The city is only 1.3 miles square, so you’re always within walking distance to the beach as well as Hermosa’s renowned arts and entertainment offerings (surf festivals, farmer’s markets, outdoor concerts, and the famous Fiesta Hermosa street fair!)

Of the three Beach Cities in the South Bay, only Hermosa owns its own beach. The wide, flat sand makes Hermosa Beach one of the most popular places in the world to play beach volleyball for beginners and professionals alike (keep your eyes open for Olympians who regularly play here.) The Strand, which stretches north into Manhattan Beach and south into Redondo Beach, is a popular place for walkers, joggers, bikers and sightseers.

When it comes to Hermosa real estate, every location is lovely. Along the beach, the Sand Section features charming walk streets dotted with large homes, apartments, and beach bungalows alike, as well as the trendy shops, amazing restaurants and hip venues of the renovated Pier Plaza. Home to more single family residences, the quieter Valley Section is lush with trees and the bucolic “greenbelt” walking trail, while to the east, the Hill Section homes boast stunning panoramic views and larger lots. Come fall in love with Hermosa!
